About Counselling, Psychotherapy and Coaching

If you are experiencing problems and would like help to make appropriate changes or adjustments in your life, counselling might be useful for you. Counselling is often short term although we may agree to extend it if appropriate for you. It can help you to identify the problems you want to solve and find the resources within you to help you to move forward.

You may notice recurring patterns in your life that are preventing you from getting the satisfaction that you want. Perhaps you have difficulties in forming relationships and you want to take action to find new ways of relating to others. Maybe your self esteem is so low and you have noticed that you are very hard on yourself so you want to change this and develop self confidence. These are just a couple of examples of the types of issues that psychotherapy can help with. You will have an opportunity to explore your patterns, identify what helps and what doesn’t help you and find new ways of using your personal skills, assets and talents to make improvements in your life.

You may want to discuss and set your personal goals and get support to stay focused and achieve what you want. Perhaps you want to lose weight or learn new skills to get back into work or to progress at work. Coaching is a useful tool that can support you to achieve success by establishing your personal goals, identifying the barriers to success and helping you to find the options that are right for you.

My Approach

My core model is Transactional Analysis (TA) which I integrate with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Hypnotherapy. I use an eclectic approach to tailor your therapy in your best interests as a unique individual. We will agree a contract for the outcomes you want.

In some respects the technical labelling or the application of the models is less important than finding a therapist who you feel you connect with and you believe will support you during your difficult times. Lets meet up so you experience this connection and support.
